Mass.-Dartmouth Player Killed in Auto Accident

Massachusetts-Dartmouth freshman Adam Keeler was killed just before 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day, when he lost control of his car and slammed into a utility pole.

The accident occured on Route 44 in Carver, Mass. According to the Boston Herald, Keeler worked as a waiter at a restaurant in Brant Rock, Mass., before leaving for a party.

Keeler’s father, Dennis Keeler, is a Massachusetts state trooper.

“It’s just going to leave such a horrible void,” the elder Keeler told the Herald. “We’ve just got to stay close and love each other. It’s quite an ordeal.”

The crash is under investigation.

Keeler, a 6-foot forward, had three assists in three games this season with UMass-Dartmouth.
