Recent changes behind the bench at a pair of Western schools have kept the Division III coaching carousel in motion.
St. Scholastica head coach Cory Borys resigned after three seasons behind the Saints bench, where he accumulated a 16-59-5 record. The school said that Borys cited personal reasons for his departure, and is moving back to Green Bay, Wis. Borys spent seven seasons in Green Bay as a player and assistant coach at St. Norbert.
A search for Borys’ replacement is currently under way.
Marian has announced that Jasen Wise has accepted the head coaching position recently vacated by Chris Brown, who left to take over the reigns at Hamline.
Wise has been the assistant coach at Hamline for the past five seasons. The native of Anchorage, Alaska, played for both St. Thomas and RIT during his college career, where he was captain and assistant captain, respectively.
“We are proud to have Jasen Wise as our new men’s hockey and golf coach,” said Doug Hammonds, athletic director at Marian. “We are pleased at the potential and dedication that Jasen will provide us in the hockey and golf programs.”
“As long as we work hard and have fun, the wins and losses will take care of themselves,” said Wise. “Coach Brown left the Marian hockey program in great shape and I see no reason why we shouldn’t compete for another MCHA title.”
