Superior Tops USCHO.com Men’s D-III Poll

Wisconsin-Superior took over the top spot in this week’s USCHO.com Division III men’s poll. The undefeated Yellowjackets, at 14-0-5, received 11 of 15 first-place votes. Moving up one position to No. 2 is St. Norbert, with three first-place nods, after two weekend league wins.

In third, up one position, and receiving the other first-place vote, is St. John’s, which had two wins over MIAC foe St. Mary’s over the weekend. Dropping from the top to No. 4 was Manhattanville, which had its first loss of the season on Saturday at Hobart.

Staying at No. 5 is Middlebury, which had a pair of wins over the weekend, as did Norwich, which moves up one spot to sixth.

No. 7 Fredonia drops one spot after ties with Buffalo State and Utica. Moving up two places to No. 8 is Oswego, which downed Hamilton and Cortland last week.

Staying at No. 9, despite a loss to Wis.-Superior, is Wisconsin-River Falls. Trinity, which lost to Norwich and beat D-II St. Michael’s, drops two places to No. 10.

Hobart leaps three places to No. 11 after wins over Manhattanville and Buffalo State. Bowdoin, which narrowly beat Conn. College and tied Tufts, drops one spot to No. 12.

Despite a win over Elmira in its only game of the week, RIT drops one spot to No. 13, while St. Thomas, victorious in a pair of games over Bethel, moves up one place to No. 14.

Dropping two positions to No. 15 is Colby. The Mules lost to Tufts and pounded Conn. College.

Other teams receiving votes were Babson, Utica, Plattsburgh, Curry, and Bethel.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled by U.S. College Hockey Online, and consists
of 15 voters, including coaches and beat writers from across the country.
