Eleven players competing for an NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship in Elmira, NY, this weekend have been honored as CCM All-Americans for 2004-05. NCAA semifinalists Elmira, Middlebury and Plattsburgh each had three selections. The other semifinalist, Gustavus Adolphus, had two honorees.
Elmira senior forward Laura Hurd became the first four-time First Team All American in Division III. Also, two First Team players this year, Emily Quizon of Middlebury and Cherie Stewart of Manhattanville, are California natives.
The CCM All-American Ice Hockey Teams are chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and sponsored by CCM, an international leader in hockey equipment. Due to the number of teams regionally, the coaches have established two East teams and one West team.
