Middlebury, which begins its 2006-07 season on Friday, stays atop this week’s USCHO.com Division III poll, with 11 first-place votes. Staying at No. 2 again this week is St. Norbert; the Green Knights tallied three first-place votes. Four other NCHA teams joined St. Norbert in the poll and seven of eight teams in the conference received votes.
Once again in third and fourth place are unbeaten Manhattanville and Oswego; the Valiants edged the Lakers by one point, but the Lakers received the remaining first-place vote.
Staying put at fifth through eighth place are Norwich, Wisconsin-Superior, Wisconsin-River Falls and New England College.
Moving up one place to No. 9 is Utica, while at No. 10, up four spots from last week, is Geneseo. Hobart moves up one place to No. 11 while Wisconsin-Stevens Point drops three spots to No. 12.
Entering the poll this week are two previously unranked teams: No. 13 Wisconsin-Stout and No. 14 Neumann. Dropping four spots to No. 15 is St. Thomas.
Other teams receiving votes include Bowdoin, Babson, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wis.-Eau Claire, Colby, St. John’s, St. Scholastica, and Mass.-Dartmouth.
