Both had a year of eligibility remaining.
Shattenkirk, 21, was the 14th selection in the 2007 draft. Cohen was the 45th pick in the same draft.
Cohen, who scored the game-winning goal in the Terriers’ overtime victory over Miami in the 2009 national championship game, led BU defensemen with 30 points this season.
Shattenkirk, the first non-senior BU captain since 1961-62, was second with 29.
