Bowes tabbed new head coach of Castleton State women

Castleton State has announced the hiring of Bill Bowes as the new head coach for the women’s hockey team.

Bowes, who was an assistant coach at Holy Cross for the past seven seasons, will also take over the Castleton State men’s golf team.

Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Bowes was head coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology from 1995-2004.

Bowes graduated from Worcester State College in 1979, where he played four years of hockey, and was inducted into the Worcester State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

“I am very, very excited to have been given this opportunity and privilege to coach the women’s ice hockey team and men’s golf team at Castleton State College,” Bowes said in a statement. “I feel that the potential of this hockey team and program are endless. I will be looking for current players and future recruits that share my love, passion and respect for the game. We have many challenges ahead as we develop lasting relationships, create great memories and build the program to be a strong competitor in the very highly regarded ECAC Women’s East.”
