Dartmouth announced on Tuesday the addition of Josh Liegl to the coaching staff.
Liegl was a volunteer assistant with the Big Green last season and previously was an assistant at Ohio State from 2008-11.
“We are very excited to have Josh Liegl join Dartmouth and our women’s hockey team,” Dartmouth head coach Mark Hudak said in a statement. “Josh brings a great deal of experience with him which will benefit us all. I have known Josh for a number of years. He is well respected by all those in the collegiate hockey community and we are fortunate to have someone of his quality join the Big Green.”
In 2011-12, Liegl worked with the Dartmouth goaltenders through on-ice practice and video development sessions. Also in 2011, he served as the video coach for the gold medal-winning U.S. women’s national team at the Four Nations Cup.
From 2006-08, Liegl was an assistant coach for the RPI women’s team and was an assistant at Colgate from 2004-06. Prior to Colgate, Liegl was an assistant coach on the Findlay women’s team from 2002-04. He started his coaching career as an assistant at American International in 2001.
Liegl graduated from Marian, where he was a four-year letter-winner as a goaltender, in 2000 with a degree in business management.
