Quailer leaves Northeastern with one year eligibility left for Montreal deal

Northeastern junior forward Steve Quailer has signed a two-year contract with the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and will forgo his senior season with the Huskies.

Quailer tore his ACL in an exhibition game prior to the 2009-10 season and sat out that season with a medical redshirt.

In three season and 105 games with Northeastern, Quailer posted 21 goals and 63 points.

Quailer was originally a third-round draft pick of the Canadiens (86th overall) in the 2008 NHL draft.

The 2011-12 Northeastern MVP, Quailer was also named NU’s rookie of the year in 2009 and made the Hockey East All-Rookie Team as well.
