Jean forgoes junior, senior seasons at Lake Superior for Rangers deal

Lake Superior State forward Kyle Jean has opted to forgo his final two years of eligibility and signed a professional contract Wednesday with the New York Rangers.

Undrafted by an NHL team, Jean attended the Rangers’ development camp from June 25-29 and scored a goal in all four scrimmages.

Jean recorded 12 goals and 12 assists in 39 games with the Lakers in 2011-12 and during two collegiate seasons, he compiled 13 goals and 38 points.
