A total of eight teams received first-place votes in this week’s USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll, but with 27 first-place votes, Boston College rises two spots to assume the No. 1 ranking.
Last week’s No. 1, Minnesota, falls to No. 2 with 12 first-place votes, while Miami moves up one to No. 3 and received four first-place votes. North Dakota, down a pair to No. 4, had one first-place vote and No. 5 Denver earned three top votes and is up two places this week.
Michigan falls one to No. 6, Cornell drops one to No. 7 and also had a first-place vote, Union stays eighth and garnered a first-place vote, Notre Dame remains ninth and Western Michigan jumps from No. 12 to sit tenth.
Massachusetts-Lowell drops one to No. 11, New Hampshire gained the final first-place vote and is up three to No. 12, Boston University falls two to sit 13th, Minnesota-Duluth drops one to No. 14, trading places with Northeastern.
At No. 16, Northern Michigan is up one, Harvard holds steady at No. 17 and Ferris State drops a pair to No. 18. Colorado College (No. 19) and Quinnipiac (No. 20) remain the same as last week’s poll.
In addition, 18 other teams received votes.
The USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country.
