Did I mention look out for the Owls? Westfield State continues to roll, improving its overall record to 6-1-0, and sits atop the MASCAC at 3-0-0. Bob Miele’s club netted 12 goals in its last two games, before being shutout by No. 8 Amherst, 6-0.
Plymouth State grabbed a big victory on Monday night, defeating No.15 Wentworth, 2-1, and has won three of its last four contests. Salem State and Massachusetts-Dartmouth battled to a 2-2 tie in an early MASCAC showdown.
I went 2-1-1 last week, another solid week of picking for me, as I continue to improve my own record.
As we enter the Thanksgiving break, I want to wish everyone and their families a happy and safe Holiday!
Let’s look at the picks.
Saturday, November 24
Assumption Greyhounds (1-7-0) at Worcester State Lancers (0-6-0)
Two struggling teams kickoff the Worcester Cup Tournament, and it may be the game that Worcester needs. Worcester has been in a lot of close games this season, while Assumption has yet to win since its opening night victory. I thought the Lancers would get their first win last week, but the bleeding stops now. Worcester 4-3
Sunday, November 25
Salem State Vikings (2-1-1) at Connecticut College Camels (0-2-0)
The Camels of Connecticut College have been slow getting out of the gate, dropping their first two games while being outscored 11-2. Meanwhile, Salem State has played in three close games, with the outcome being decided by tow or less goals. Not today though. All Vikings in this one. Salem State 4-1
Becker/Nichols at Worcester State Lancers
Becker and Nichols square off in the other opener in the Worcester Cup Tournament. Nichols, which is always a strong program, will get by Becker and take on the Lancers. The Bison though, usually have a heavy offensive team and will get by the Lancers. Nichols 5-2
Record to Date: 6-5-2 (14 pts.)
