Jumping three spots this week, Minnesota is the new No. 1 team in the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll, unseating last week’s top team, Boston College, which falls to No. 2 this week.
Minnesota earned 35 of 50 first-place votes, while BC garnered five No. 1 votes.
No. 3 Notre Dame had nine first-place votes.
New Hampshire falls two spots to No. 4, Quinnipiac rises four places to No. 5, Miami is down one to sit sixth, North Dakota remains seventh, Dartmouth is up two spots to No. 8 and had the other first-place vote.
Boston University falls three to No. 9 and Western Michigan is down a pair to No. 10.
At No. 11, Denver is up three, Cornell falls one place to No. 12, Union holds steady at No. 13, Minnesota State rises four to take over the 14th spot and St. Cloud State is up one to No. 15.
Nebraska-Omaha tumbles four places to No. 16, Yale drops two to No. 17, Niagara is down one to No. 18 and previously-unranked Robert Morris enters the rankings for the first time at No. 19 and Holy Cross, also unranked last week, comes in at No. 20.
The USCHO.com division I Men’s Poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country.
