The CCHA announced on Wednesday pair of one-game suspensions as a result of separate incidents that occurred in Great Lakes Invitational games on Dec. 30, 2012.
Michigan senior captain A.J. Treais and Western Michigan sophomore defenseman Matt Stewart will both sit one game, with Stewart getting the additional game from the CCHA after a game disqualification earned him the automatic one-game ban.
Treais received major and game misconduct penalties for contact to the head late in the third period against Michigan State and is ineligible to play in Michigan’s next game on Jan. 8 against Bowling Green. He can return to the lineup on Jan. 11.
Stewart was assessed major and disqualification penalties for hitting from behind late in the GLI championship game against Michigan Tech. He will not be in the WMU lineup this weekend at Bemidji State and is eligible to return to the lineup on Jan. 11.
