Boston College remains the top-ranked team in the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll, but as was the case with the Feb. 17 poll, the Eagles were one vote shy of being a unanimous No. 1 team.
Last week, BC beat and tied Massachusetts-Lowell and earned 49 first-place votes.
Idle Minnesota stayed at No. 2 and garnered the other first-place vote, just as it did last week.
Union is again ranked third after defeating both Clarkson and St. Lawrence, Ferris State swept Alaska-Anchorage and moves up two spots to No. 4 and after splitting with Miami, St. Cloud State is down one to No. 5.
Wisconsin took both games from Michigan State and jumps two places to No. 6, Lowell remains seventh, Quinnipiac tumbles three places to No. 8 after losses to Cornell and Colgate, Northeastern beat and tied Maine and holds steady at No. 9 and North Dakota beat Minnesota-Duluth twice and is up one to sit tenth this week.
At No. 11, Cornell is up two with wins over Quinnipiac and Princeton, Providence swept Massachusetts and is again 12th, Michigan split with Penn State and drops three spots to No. 13, Notre Dame swept Boston University and is forward one to No. 14 and Yale, with a win over Harvard and a tie with Dartmouth, moves down one to No. 15.
Colgate vaults up three notches to No. 16 with victories over Princeton and QU, Vermont swept Merrimack, but falls one to No. 17, Maine tied and lost to Northeastern and is down one spot to No. 18, idle Minnesota State re-enters the rankings at No. 19 and Denver dropped both games to Colorado College and moves from No. 18 to No. 20 in this week’s poll.
The USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country.
