Colgate announced Monday that assistant coach Jason Lefevre has resigned to a accept a position in the private sector, effective immediately.
Lefevre was in his ninth season as a member of Don Vaughan’s staff and seventh as an assistant coach.
A 2002 graduate of Colgate, Lefevre was a four-year member of the Raiders program and was part of the 2000 NCAA tournament team.
“Jason has had a very positive impact on Colgate Hockey,” Vaughan said in a statement. “His contributions to the program are on many levels and will be felt for years to come. His decision to leave the college hockey profession was a difficult one for him and he certainly will be missed. We wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward with his new career.”
A national search for Lefevre’s replacement will begin at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season.
