For the second straight week, games at the Beanpot tournament have been postponed by a snowstorm.
The third-place and championship games that were scheduled for Monday have been rescheduled for Feb. 23. Boston College and Harvard will play at 4:30 p.m. EST, with the championship game between Boston University and Northeastern to follow at 7:30.
The teams worked with TD Garden to find an open date, Steve Nazro, the vice president of events for TD Garden, told the Boston Herald.
“It’s the right call,” Boston University athletic director Drew Marrochello told the Herald. “It’s definitely the right decision. The schools and the TD Garden are sensitive to each others’ needs but we’re also sensitive to the patrons and fans that make this such a special event.”
The semifinal games scheduled for Feb. 2 were postponed by a day because of a snowstorm. That was the third postponement in tournament history, joining the 1978 championship and the semifinals in 1983.
The tournament is traditionally played on the first two Mondays of February.
The new schedule means that Northeastern, Boston University and Harvard all will play five games in a nine-day span to close the regular season. The Terriers and the Huskies are scheduled to finish regular season play with a home-and-home series on Feb. 27 and 28.
Boston College is off Friday, Feb. 20 but will play four games in eight days before the playoffs.
