Clarkson sophomore forward Janick Asselin has decided to leave school and pursue opportunities in professional hockey, according to a school-issued press release Tuesday.
The Coaticook, Quebec native skated in 40 career games for the Golden Knights, scoring 16 points on four goals and 12 assists. He played in 15 of Clarkson’s 19 games this season, recording four assists.
“We wish nothing but the best for Janick as he pursues his professional career,” said Clarkson coach Casey Jones in a statement. “I would like to thank him for his contribution to the Clarkson hockey program.”
According to Asselin’s Facebook page, he’ll be joining the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals.
