After already adding forward Oskar Andren during the holiday break, Boston University has another new player for the second half in forward Erik Udahl.
Udahl, from East Walpole, Mass., is back in his home state after playing in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Coquitlam Express and Langley Rivermen for the past year and a half.
“We’re thrilled to add two players of Oskar and Erik’s caliber midway through our season,” BU coach David Quinn said in a news release. “Our staff wanted to make sure we were putting ourselves in a position for success down the stretch and these two wings certainly help us do that.”
Udahl tallied seven goals and 10 points in 33 games this season in Coquitlam and during the 2014-15 season, notched nine points and 10 assists for Langley.
Prior to his time in British Columbia, Udahl was with the Boston Advantage AAA program for two seasons, scoring 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists) for the U16 team before adding putting up a 19-20-39 line for the U18 squad.
During the 2011-12 season, Udahl played for former Terrier and NHL standout Shawn McEachern at The Rivers School.
“Oskar is a strong, smart and skilled forward and Udahl has good speed and skill and plays with great energy,” added Quinn. “Both of them look they will have no trouble acclimating to college hockey and we look forward to seeing them help us both this year and over the next few seasons.”
