Stonehill, in accordance with the Northeast-10 conference and St. Anselm, announced that Saturday night’s NE-10 championship scheduled to be played at the Foxboro Sports Center has been postponed.
The following is a statement from the Northeast-10:
“Earlier this evening, officials from Saint Anselm College informed the Conference that the New Hampshire Division of Public Health Services (NH DPHS) is working closely with Saint Anselm after identifying a few cases of mumps infection among college students on the campus. So far the identified cases are among members of the hockey team. To assure the health and wellness of student-athletes, officials and our fans, the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Ice Hockey Championship between Stonehill College and Saint Anselm College, scheduled for Saturday evening, February 27th, has been postponed. In the coming days, league and institutional officials will discuss options for the game to be rescheduled and will make a public announcement when appropriate.
Saint Anselm and the Northeast-10, following guidance from the State of NH DPH, have been assured there is minimal risk for Saint Anselm College to host athletic events in the coming days; therefore the quarterfinal round games of the 2016 Northeast-10 Basketball Championship will proceed as scheduled on Sunday afternoon.”
Further details on a potential makeup of the championship game will be announced as they are available.
