Weekend wrap: Feb. 26

St. Scholastica at No. 7 Lake Forest
Kayla Griffith scored both goals for the Foresters in game one to lead them to a 2-1 win. Mac Johnson and Denisa Lalikova each potted goals for St. Scholastica in game two to force a third mini-game to decide who would advance. That mini-game extended into almost a full game with two overtime periods before Amy Budde scored a power-play goal to send Lake Forest to the NCHA tournament final.

Bowdoin at Hamilton
Maeghan Sheehan scored the game’s lone goal in the second overtime, capping the longest game in Bowdoin program history and sending the Polar Bears to the NESCAC semifinals.

St. Thomas at No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus
Gustavus Adolphus had a 2-0 lead just a few minutes into the second period, but it was all St. Thomas from there. Becca Zarembinski, Anna Williams, and Rachel Werdin scored three straight goals for the Tommies to give them the 3-2 win. St. Thomas advanced to the MIAC championship to face Augsburg.

Amherst at Trinity
Amherst goalie Sabrina Dobbins recorded her first conference shutout and Alex Toupal scored both goals as Amherst upset Trinity to advance to the NESCAC semifinals.
