According to Q30 Television, former Quinnipiac women’s coach Rick Seeley allegedly abused his players as far back as 2009.
Seeley was terminated on April 9, 2015.
The Q30 report states that the most recent memorandum filed in Seeley’s lawsuit against Quinnipiac revealed that players at the school reported abusive behavior by Seeley as early as the 2009 season. Former athletic director Jack McDonald denied knowledge of abuse allegations despite multiple examples cited in athlete surveys.
Seeley coached at Quinnipiac from 2008 to 2015 and according to the memorandum filed recently in the New Haven Judicial District Court, the university investigated an incident in which Seeley allegedly grabbed one of his players at a game against Harvard on March 14, 2015.
Following the investigation, the university “decided that it would be best to separate you (Seeley) from employment,” it said in a letter to Seeley dated April 9, 2015.
McDonald has been the athletic director at the University of New England since the fall of 2015.
The Q30 report outlines many instances of alleged physical and verbal abuse Seeley exerted on his players.
