Niagara announced on Thursday the hiring of Andy Boschetto as the Purple Eagles’ new assistant coach.
Boschetto joins the Purple Eagles after spending the past seven seasons as the head coach at Salve Regina. Boschetto led the Seahawks to three ECAC Northeast championship games in the past five seasons, winning the 2015-16 league title and leading the Seahawks to their first-ever NCAA Division III tournament appearance.
“Andy’s expertise in developing players and programs will be a tremendous addition to our team at Niagara,” Niagara head coach Jason Lammers said in a statement. “He has established an excellent reputation as a program builder, taking the team at Salve Regina to new heights in his seven seasons with the university. I am excited to be able to add a coach of Andy’s caliber to our staff.”

Prior to Salve Regina, Boschetto was an assistant coach at Curry for the 2009-10 campaign. Boschetto’s coaching career began in the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach at Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H.
Boschetto played collegiate hockey from 2001 to 2005, playing two seasons at Hobart before completing his college career with two seasons at Suffolk. Boschetto played for Lammers at Hobart, where Lammers served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2001-02 campaign. In 74 games at the NCAA Division III level, Boschetto posted 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists), including career-highs of 11 goals, 12 assists and 23 points in 16 games at Suffolk during the 2003-04 season.
