Bethel at Concordia (Minn.)
Wendy Roberts had Bethel up 1-0 after the first period, but Concordia responded by scoring three straight, including two in a row from Amanda Flemming. Bethel mounted a stunning comeback, scoring twice in the final seven minutes of the game on goals from Sarah Moy and Bri Stafne to tie it at three. Kennedi Mitchell scored the game-winner.
Concordia (Wis.) at St. Scholastica
In game one, Natasha Wanless had Concordia up 1-0 after the first period before Mac Johnson and Denisa Lalikova scored for St. Scholastica to go ahead 2-1. Wanless scored again in the third to tie the game, and that’s how game one would end. In game two, Rachel Anderson scored midway through the final frame to break the scoreless tie. Giorgia Battisti added an empty-net goal to secure the 2-0 win for St. Scholastica and a berth into the semifinals.
Johnson & Wales at Nichols
This one was scoreless until midway through the second when Kathryn Mason’s power-play goal put the Wildcats ahead 1-0, but Nichols responded with a goal from Jordyn McGuire to force overtime. McKenna Germander scored just 26 seconds into the final frame to give Nichols the win and a berth in the CHA semifinals. It was Nichols’ first-ever playoff victory.
Manhattanville at Stevenson
Manhattanville pushed the hosts to the limit, but Stevenson prevailed with a 4-3 win, extending their unbeaten streak to 15 games. Monica Pozuc scored the first of her two goals just five minutes into the game to give Stevenson the 1-0 lead. Chelsea Blackburn extended the lead to two, but Sarah Sinning scored two in a row to even the score at two. Pozuc tallied her second to open the final frame, but Janet Xu answered for Manhattanville. It took Allie Sabatini’s goal with less than eight to play to put Stevenson ahead for good. Chelsea Blackburn set a new single-season record for Stevenson with 19 assists.
Oswego at Buffalo State
The Oswego State Lakers upset no. 2 seed Buffalo State with an emphatic 5-0 win. Jean-marie Padden and Olivia Ellis each had two goals for the Lakers in the win. Oswego will go on to face Plattsburgh State in the conference championship game next weekend.
