Day 2 of the 2018 NCAA men’s hockey tournament gave two teams a return to the Frozen Four and put a third within striking distance.
Notre Dame and Minnesota Duluth are going back to the national semifinals after winning regional finals on Saturday.

It’s the first time since 2008 that two teams in the Frozen Four are returning from the previous season.
Defending champion Denver can make it three for the first time since 2007 if it wins the Midwest Regional final against Ohio State on Sunday. Michigan and Boston University will play in the Northeast Regional championship.

Boston University 3, Cornell 1: The Terriers became the second No. 4 seed to beat a No. 1 seed in this year’s tournament.
Ohio State 4, Princeton 2: The Buckeyes scored goals 20 seconds apart in the first period to take control.
Michigan 3, Northeastern 2: Cooper Marody’s second goal of the game in the third period was the difference.
Denver 5, Penn State 1: The defending champs neutralized the Nittany Lions’ attack.
Notre Dame 2, Providence 1: Dylan Malmquist scored with 27 seconds left to give the Fighting Irish another Frozen Four trip.
Minnesota Duluth 2, Air Force 1: The Bulldogs dominated the Falcons early and held on late to make it to St. Paul, where they won their only national championship in 2011.
