Morrisville State vs. Nichols
Both teams are off to a good start and won their games opening weekend. Morrisville’s young players are too good for Nichols to win a game. However, the scores from Nichols’ games against Suffolk show they can put the puck in the net. This shows potential for one game of the two this weekend to be close. Morrisville State 5-1, 4-2

Wisconsin-Stevens Point vs. No. 10 St. Thomas
St. Thomas is coming off two great victories against Lake Forest, and Wis.-Stevens Point predictably won both games against St. Olaf. The only reason this series could be close is the home ice advantage for Wis. Stevens Point and the hype around a home opener. St. Thomas 4-0, 2-1

Manhattanville vs. Stevenson
Manhattanville hasn’t played a game yet, and Stevenson lost to UMass-Boston on Friday, Oct. 26. Looking at both teams, the similarities are too great for any team to complete a sweep. Stevenson’s two games under their belt will allow them to complete the first victory, but once Manhattanville shakes out the nerves expect them to come back swinging for the victory on Saturday. Stevenson 3-1, Manhattanville 3-2

Saturday, Nov.3

No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus vs. No. 9 Wisconsin-Eau Claire
Wis.-Eau Claire’s loss to Hamline had to be disappointing, but they gained confidence from their 8-0 win against Marian. The Blugolds play Bethel the night before Gustavus Adolphus, and this may impact this matchup. The Gusties are coming off a close game against Wisconsin-Superior and look for a better outcome this weekend. Although Wis.-Eau Claire may be tired from the night before, they have depth in their roster to pull out the win. Wis.-Eau Claire 4-3

Wednesday, Nov. 7

No. 2 Norwich vs. No. 3 Plattsburgh State
Amanda Conway and the Cadets had a tough loss to Elmira. Although, playing a top-tier team early gave experience to the young players and freshman goalie Alexa Berg. Plattsburgh has yet to play a ranked team, and this could potentially cause a slow start for them. Plattsburgh 3-2 (OT)
