The chaos of last weekend gave Nicole and I fits in our picks. Neither of us did particularly well, but Nicole did gain a game back on me in our picks race. I went 19-15 (.558), while Nicole was 20-14 (.588). On the year, I am 145-57-24 (.694) while Nicole is 139-63-24 (.668). This is the last weekend with a reasonable number of games, so hopefully I edge Nicole out this weekend.

Thursday, Dec. 6, Sat. Dec. 8

No. 10 Colgate vs Syracuse
Candace: The Raiders should build off the momentum from last weekend and sweep. Colgate 4-1, 4-1
Nicole: Colgate has shown they’re capable of a sweep here so I expect them to live up to that. Colgate 3-1, 3-0

Friday, Dec. 7

No. 6 Princeton at Rensselaer
Candace: Don’t look now, but the Tigers may creep into the NCAA tournament. Princeton 5-1
Nicole: Princeton wins this one. Princeton 4-1

Quinnipiac at Union
Candace: I think Quinnipiac is a team that will always win when it should. Quinnipiac 3-1
Nicole: The Bobcats should take this one. Quinnipiac 4-1

Maine at Harvard
Candace: I think the Crimson at home in a tight one. Harvard 2-1
Nicole: I’ll take the Crimson at home on the back of Lindsay Reed. Harvard 2-1

Friday-Saturday, Dec. 7-8

No. 5 Clarkson versus St. Lawrence (home-and-home)
Candace: This could be a toss up, but I think the Golden Knights will rebound from last weekend’s disaster. Clarkson 3-2, 3-1
Nicole: I don’t feel like I have any grasp on what might happen here. I’ll pick a split, with each team winning at home. St. Lawrence 3-2, Clarkson 2-0

Merrimack versus No. 9 Boston College (home-and-home)
Candace: Picking the Eagles feels like a heart attack waiting to happen, but they have so much talent. Boston College 3-1, 3-1
Nicole: I’m going to pick Merrimack to win game one and BC to win game two. Merrimack 2-1, Boston College 3-1

No. 1 Wisconsin at St. Cloud State
Candace: Wisconsin is looking terrifyingly dominant. Wisconsin 4-1, 4-1
Nicole: The Badgers take the sweep. Wisconsin 4-1, 3-0

Minnesota State at Minnesota Duluth
Candace: I’m really liking Minnesota State right now. With the goalies each team has, scoring will be slight. Minnesota Duluth 2-1, Minnesota State 2-1
Nicole: I’m high on the Mavericks, so I’ll call a split here. Minnesota Duluth 3-1, Minnesota State 2-1

Boston University at RIT
Candace: Dare I say the Terriers are back to being a possible NCAA tournament team? Boston University 3-1, 3-1
Nicole: The Terriers should sweep here. Boston University 2-0, 2-1

Vermont at Yale
Candace: A tough one to pick, but Vermont has been more inconsistent. Yale 2-1, 2-1
Nicole: I’ll take Yale at home. Yale 3-2, 3-1

Bemidji State at Mercyhurst
Candace: The Beavers got a good sweep last weekend, but this feels like a split. Mercyhurst 2-1. Bemidji State 2-1
Nicole: I’ll call a split here. Mercyhurst 3-2, Bemidji State 1-0

Robert Morris at No. 2 Minnesota
Candace: Minnesota should roll in this one. Minnesota 4-1, 5-1
Nicole: The Gophers take both. Minnesota 5-2, 4-0

Candace: Again, I like the Bobcats in a close one. Quinnipiac 2-1
Nicole: I’ll take Rensselaer. Rensselaer 2-1

No. 6 Princeton at Union
Candace: Princeton should keep up its momentum. Princeton 4-1
Nicole: Princeton wins this. Princeton 3-0

Harvard at New Hampshire
Candace: New Hampshire is at home, and could pose problems, so this will be a tough test for the Crimson. Harvard 2-1
Nicole: Harvard wins. Harvard 2-1
