Omaha goalie Tomek gives up senior season, signs with Slovakian pro team

According to SB Nation, Omaha junior goalie Matej Tomek will not return for his senior season, choosing to sign a pro contract with HC Dukla Trencin in Slovakia for the 2019-20 season.

Tomek saw action in five games last season, going 0-1-0 with a 4.73 GAA and a .845 save percentage.

He previously played two seasons at North Dakota from 2015 to 2017 before going to the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks.

Tomek was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the third round (90th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
