Freshman forward Tony Voce scored two goals, and senior forward Mike Lephart had two assists to reach 100 career points to lead Boston College to a 5-3 victory over Notre Dame before a soldout crowd of 2,749 at the Joyce Center.
Lephart reached the 100-point mark with his assist on the final goal of the night, a two-on-one breakaway with fellow senior Brian Gionta that gave BC a 5-3 lead with 6:48 remaining in the game.
Voce lead the charge in the second period when he scored the first of his two second-period goals at 7:07 to break a 1-1 tie. Voce would give the Eagles the lead for good 1:53 later when he beat Irish goaltender Tony Zasowski to a rebound and flipped the puck into an empty net for his third goal of the season.
Junior forward Jeff Giuliano started the scoring for BC just 1:10 into the game, giving the Eagles an early 1-0 advantage. Senior forward Mark McLennan added to the Eagles second-period goal scoring, tallying his first goal of the season at 12:48 to give BC a 4-1 lead.
Notre Dame (3-6-2) would retaliate with two power-play goals to cut the lead to 4-3 with 10 minutes remaining, but senior goaltender Scott Clemmensen was too much for the Irish, making 34 saves for the win. Zasowski stopped 27 Eagle shots on the night.
Boston College (7-2-0) returns to action on Friday, Nov. 17 when it travels to Merrimack to take on the Warriors in a conference matchup. Notre Dame will host Northern Michigan after Thanksgiving in its next action.
