Goldman Scores in OT, Middlebury Tops Salem State

Scott Goldman pounced on a rebound just outside the crease and scored a power-play goal 3:42 into overtime to lift Middlebury to a 3-2 overtime win over Salem State on Friday.

Middlebury opened the scoring 3:53 in as Kevin Cooper scored a power-play goal as he found the far post from the left face-off circle.

Salem State tied the game when Nick Stauder’s power play slapper from the left point deflected in off a Panther stick.

The Panthers took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period when Ryan Constantine scored after a scramble in front of the net.

The Vikings tied the game early in the third period when Mark Farioli’s turn-around wrister found the back of the net from between the faceoff circles.

Christian Carlsson made 11 saves in goal for Middlebury, while Kaleb Christenson made 35 saves for Salem State.
