Braden Pimm and Garrett Vermeersch each scored twice, and Ludwig Karlsson posted four assists for the Huskies (5-7-2), who have won four straight.
Notre Dame starting goaltender Mike Johnson failed to make a save before being pulled just 4:13 into the game with the Fighting Irish (10-4-3) trailing 3-0.
Northeastern also chased Steven Summerhays from the Notre Dame net in the third period with the Huskies ahead 7-1. Joe Rogers finished the game for the Irish, which allowed the most goals in the seven-season Jeff Jackson coaching era.
Pimm scored 30 seconds into the game and Adam Reid and Dan Cornell added goals in the opening 4:13 to put Northeastern in control.
Cody Ferriero scored in the final minute of the first period and Vermeersch scored twice in the second to open up a 6-0 lead for the Huskies.
T.J. Tynan made it 6-1 and Nick Larson scored a third-period goal for Notre Dame, which fell to 5-1 in its new arena.
Pimm scored his second goal of the game in the third, and Justin Daniels and Drew Ellement tacked on goals for the Huskies, who got their nine goals on just 20 shots on goal.
