Schwartz scores two as Colorado College crushes Minnesota State

Rylan Schwartz scored two goals and the power play scored three times on six opportunities as the No. 7 Colorado COllege Tigers crushed the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks, 6-2, sweeping the series at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minn.

Mike Boivin and Schwartz scored power-play goals 93 seconds apart in the first period to jump-start CC. Schwartz now has 16 goals on the season, tying him for the WCHA lead.

Josh Thorimbert made 24 saves for the Tigers, making him 6-1 on the year.

CC improves to 11-5 overall and moved into third place in the league. The Tigers open a six-game home stand on December 30-31 with nonconference games against Air Force and Union College. Minnesota State is now 5-14-1 overall and 2-11-1 in the WCHA.
