Princeton, Dartmouth play to draw after long delay

Princeton and Dartmouth traded goals three times and played to a 3-3 tie on a wild Friday night at Hobey Baker Rink.

Michael Sdao opened the scoring just 42 seconds into the game to give Princeton an early lead. Dartmouth’s Eric Neiley tallied his first of two goals midway through the first period, and then answered again midway though the second after Rob Kleenaum gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

Marc Hagel gave Princeton its third lead of the night at 2:49 of the third, but Connor Goggin knotted the game for good just 1:10 later.

With 12:36 left in the game, Dartmouth’s Jesse Beamish fired a shot that shattered the glass behind the net, delaying the game for one hour for the crew to make repairs.

Following the long delay, the goaltenders for both teams maintained thier stellar play, preserving the 3-3 tie through overtime. Mike Condon finished with 29 saves for Princeton, and Jody O’Neill finished with 36 for Dartmouth.
