Karvinen, North Dakota use special teams to rout St. Cloud State

CLOUD, Minn. — Michelle Karvinen scored short-handed and on the power play for No. 6 North Dakota, which completed a series sweep with a 6-1 victory over St. Cloud State on Saturday.

UND added another power-play goal (by Susanna Tapani) and another short-handed goal (by Meghan Dufault) in the victory.

Lexie Shaw made 22 saves for UND (6-1-1, 4-1-1 WCHA), while starter Julie Friend stopped 24 of the 29 shots she faced for the Huskies (0-6-2, 0-5-1).
