The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, as McDonell and Koelzer each tallied their second goal of the season.
Christine Valente got the Dutchwomen on the board at 1:56 of the second, set up by Nicole Russell and Brandy Streeter for her second tally of the year.
After putting the Tigers on their heels for much of the second period, the Dutchwomen broke though and tied the game in the final minute, as Haley Welch netted a blast from the point through traffic with just 34 seconds remaining in regulation.
But the Tigers answered back in the extra stanza, as Contini redirected a shot by McDonell at 2:47, recording her fifth tally of the season and second point of the night.
Kimberly Newell improved to 4-1-1, stopping 20 of 22 shots in the victory for Princeton. Shenae Lundberg made 34 saves for Union.
