The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead, netting the only goal in each of the first two stanzas.

Tucker Brockett got Princeton on the board with a power-play goal midway through the first, batting home a rebound by Ben Foster, set up by Liau. Then with 4:25 left in the second, Mike Ambrosia tallied his first goal of the season, as Kyle Rankin and Ryan Siiro set up Ambrosia in the slot for the eventual game winner.

Army gained some offensive momentum early in the third, as the Tigers were called for a penalty just 30 seconds in. Although Army failed to capitalize on the power play, the Black Knights used the momentum to cut the Tigers lead in half at 4:53, as Joe Llaurado squeaked the puck between Phinney’s left pad and the post, set up by Joe Kozlak and Clint Carlisle.

But the Tigers took back the momentum after killing another penalty just 1:03 later, and then added two insurance goals by Ben Foster and Tommy Davis.

Phinney improved to 3-13-1 in the win for Princeton. Parker Gahagen made 32 saves for Army.
