The Saints’ only goal of the game came in the first period as Princeton was on the power play. Patrick Doherty intercepted a cross-ice pass at the blue line and raced down the ice short-handed with Gunner Hughes. Hughes was taken into the net by Princeton’s Joe Grabowski on the play, and the collision in front provided just enough distraction for Doherty to put home his eighth goal of the year unassisted.
Princeton knotted the game 1-1 in the second, this time capitalizing on its power play. As the Tigers cycled in the zone, Tommy Davis got the puck toward the net, and as several players were swiping at the puck, Mike Ambrosia lifted the puck up high for his second of the year assisted by Ryan Siiro and Kyle Rankin.
Colton Phinney stopped 34 shots in the game for Princeton, 16 of them in the third period.
Kyle Hayton made 21 saves for St. Lawrence.
