ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Seven Omaha players scored and five Omaha players had multi-point games as the Mavericks rebounded to beat St. Cloud State, 7-2, and earn a split of their nonconference NCHC series.

The win ended a five-game losing streak for Omaha against St. Cloud.

Jake Guentzel scored at 5:18 of the first period for Omaha, which took a 1-0 lead into the second period. The Mavericks then broke the game open on two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second, chasing starting Huskies goaltender Charlie Lindgren, who was replaced in net by Rasmus Reijola.

St. Cloud got one goal back at 11:18 of the second from Jimmy Schuldt, but Ryan Galt scored three minutes later to end any hopes of a St. Cloud comeback.

Omaha is now 12-3-1 overall and 4-3-1-0/0 in the NCHC, putting them in fourth place.  The Huskies are 12-4-0 overall and 6-2-0-0/0 in the conference, good for second.
