PITTSBURGH — Brandon Denham broke a tie with a third-period, power-play goal, and Robert Morris beat No. 8 UMass-Lowell 5-3 on Tuesday for the Three Rivers Classic championship.

Tournament MVP Zac Lynch added his second goal of the game later in the third period for the Colonials (11-4-3), who beat their second ranked team in as many days.

Robert Morris advanced to the final by beating No. 14 Penn State on Monday, then won the title by rallying from a 3-1 deficit against the River Hawks (11-4-4).

Goals by Joe Gambardella and Ryan McGrath gave Lowell a 3-1 lead in the second period, but Lynch and Matt Cope answered for Robert Morris to send the game to the third period tied 3-3.

Dalton Izyk made 27 saves for the Colonials, while Kevin Boyle stopped 24 shots for the River Hawks.
