Fasching, Minnesota extend Michigan State’s losing streak to seven

MINNEAPOLIS — Hudson Fasching scored twice, and Leon Bristedt had three assists in Minnesota’s 5-2 victory over Michigan State on Friday.

Justin Kloos, Fasching and Jake Bischoff scored to build a 3-0 Gophers lead through two periods, and Fasching and Ryan Norman added third-period goals.

Eric Schierhorn made 17 saves for Minnesota (10-10, 5-2 Big Ten), which pulled into a tie for first place in the Big Ten with Michigan.

Connor Wood and Villiam Haag scored for the Spartans (5-16-2, 1-6), who lost their seventh straight game and have just one win in their last 15 contests since a 4-3-1 to the season.

Jake Hildebrand stopped 25 shots for Michigan State.
