Providence overcame an early 2-0 deficit with four consecutive goals en route to 4-3 upset of No. 5 UMass-Lowell on Friday at Lowell.
Kenny Hausinger and Ryan Dmowski staked the River Hawks to their early lead before Scott Conway, Vimal Sukumaran, Kasper Bjorkqvist and Vincent Desharnais tallied. The latter two goals came during a two-minute stretch midway through the third period.
Lowell, which outshot the Friars 25-20, closed the gap to one goal when Dylan Zink struck with 6:08 to play.
Hayden Hawkey made 22 saves for Providence, which improved to 4-2-1 in the second half, while Tyler Wall stopped 16 for Lowell.

The host Terriers scored three goals in less than three minutes of the third period to pull away from the Black Bears. Bobo Carpenter and Jordan Greenway scored power-play goals in the final eight minutes, and Nikolas Olsson added an insurance goal to help BU run its winning streak to seven games.

Six players scored for the host Eagles, who held the Minutemen to 13 shots. David Cotton and Scott Savage had a goal and two assists, Christopher Brown had three assists, and Austin Cangelosi and Julius Mattlia added a goal and assist each for Boston College.

Matt Alvaro’s second goal of the night turned out the be the winner for Catamounts at Burlington, Vt. He and linemates Ross Colton and Mario Puskarich combined for three goals and five assists. Freshman Stefanos Lekkas made 30 saves for Vermont. Tage Thompson scored two goals for the Huskies.
No. 14 Notre Dame 2, New Hampshire 2
Joe Wegwerth’s goal midway through the third period helped the host Irish gain a tie. Andrew Oglevie also scored for Notre Dame, which had 49 shots. Jason Salvaggio and Patrick Grasso scored for the Wildcats, who got 47 saves from Danny Tirone.
Northeastern 4, Merrimack 1
Ryan Ruck stopped 33 shots for the second game in a row, and Dylan Sikura had a goal and two assists to pace the Huskies’ victory at Boston. Adam Guadette added a goal and an assist for Northeastern. Sami Tavernier scored for Merrimack, which outshot the hosts, 34-27.
