Nicolas Rivera and C.J. Suess scored in the first and second periods, respectively, to help the Mavericks upset the Terriers. Marc Michaelis tacked on an empty-netter with 93 seconds left, while Jason Pawloski stopped 26 shots to pick up the shutout.

With 40 seconds left, Taro Hirose slapped in the game-winner to push the Spartans past BGSU. Hirose found Patrick Khodorenko for the tying score on a power play early in the second period, while Tommy Apap scored for MSU in the first. The Falcons received goals from Brandon Kruse and Shane Bednard.

Jake Lucchini lone goal during the shootout was the deciding the win for the Huskies, who also Joel L’Esperance and Alex Gillies each score in the first period. MTU goalie Patrick Munson stopped three attempts during the shootout and finished with 23 saves on the night. J.T. Henke and Anthony Nellis each scored during regulation for the Lakers.
 
No. 6 St. Cloud State 5, Alaska 4
Ryan Poehling’s one-timer for the Huskies knotted the score 4-4 and sent the game into overtime, while his older brother, Nick Poehling, notched the game-winner at 2:06 of sudden death. Alaska’s Ross Heidt snapped a 3-3 tie with 3:04 left in regulation
 
Bemidji State 0, at No. 5 Minnesota-Duluth 0
The two teams settled for a tie after two overtimes couldn’t decide a winner. BSU’s Michael Bitzer saved 45 shots, while Duluth’s Nick Deery stopped 27 shots.
