The Purple Eagles roared back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the visiting Tigers at Dwyer Arena.

After taking a 1-0 lead in the first, the Tigers scored twice in the second to extend their lead to a trey. But the Purple Eagles scored twice in the period’s last minute-plus to claw back within one heading into the break. Derian Plouffe hit the net first, scoring with 1:10 left, before Ben Sokay’s second of the season came 40 seconds later.

That set the wheels in motion for the completed comeback. Niagara’s Chris Harpur’s first career goal tied the game at 3-3 just over three minutes into the period, and Plouffe scored the game winner later in the frame with just under five minutes on the clock. Both goals came on the power play.
