Austin Poganski scored twice in the third period, but North Dakota put away a 7-0 home victory over Omaha much earlier in the game.
Rhett Gardner, Colton Poolman, Joel Janatuinen, Christian Wolanin and Andrew Peski also scored for the Fighting Hawks, who led 4-0 after two periods.
Peter Thome had to make only 15 saves for the shutout for North Dakota.
Kris Oldham allowed all seven goals on 32 Fighting Hawks shots.
