Dylan McLaughlin’s two goals and two assists paved the way for the Canisius Golden Griffins in their overtime road victory over the RIT Tigers on Friday night as Ryan Schmelzer’s game winner kept the Griffins tied for first place at the top of the Atlantic Hockey standings. The Griffins managed to hold a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes of hockey and added to it with Nolan Sheeran’s goal at 8:02 of the third period. But RIT managed to pull themselves even with third period goals, just 17 seconds apart, from Eric Brown and Shawn Cameron.

The tie would be short lived as Jeff Murray put the Griffins back in front at 13:41, but the Tigers would not go quietly as Adam Brubaker tied the game once again at 17:41. Griffin net minder Daniel Urbani stopped 25 of 29 RIT shots in the victory.
