Minnesota Duluth edged North Dakota at home, 5-3. It was Duluth’s third straight win, and sixth in the last seven games. Duluth took the lead at 13:47 of the first on a power-play goal by Joey Anderson, but Trevor Olson tied it for North Dakota at 17:38 of the first with a power-play strike from the slot when he got a rebound of Colton Poolman’s shot from the right point and backhanded it in. However, the second was all Bulldogs. Duluth took a 2-1 lead at 8:50 of the second period on a one-timer blast by Peter Krieger from the right faceoff circle that beat Cam Johnson short side. Duluth made it 3-1 with a power-play goal by Parker Mackay at 11:23. Mackay stationed himself right in the slot and tipped Anderson’s snap shot past the outstretched leg of Johnson.
The third period started fast and furious with three goals in a 3:12 span. Grant Mismash pulled North Dakota back within one just 40 seconds into the period, but Karson Kuhlman answered for Duluth at 1:56 to restore the two-goal lead. However, Poolman answered at 3:52 to make it 4-3 Duluth. However, North Dakota was never able to get the equalizer, despite firing 17 shots total in the period, and Riley Tufte added an insurance goal at 19:24 to seal the 5-3 win.
