Ross Colton’s game-winning goal with 55 seconds left broke ties on the scoreboard and in the shots on goal column (29-28) at Lawler Rink, and lifted the Catamounts to their third consecutive win in Hockey East play. Stefanos Lekkas made 27 saves in the Vermont net en route to his seventh win of the season.

The hosts grabbed a 1-0 lead on Jace Hennig’s power-play goal just 7:04 in, but Matt Alvaro tied the score more than 20 minutes of game time later – at the 10:59 mark of the second. After a scoreless third, Colton’s team-leading 14th goal of the year won the game for the Cats. Merrimack’s Craig Pantano also made 27 stops, including nine in the third period.
