The Wildcats scored the game’s first two and last two goals en route to a 4-1 victory over the Nanooks.
Denver Pierce broke a scoreless tie at 19:36 of the opening frame to get Northern Michigan on the board first. Adam Rockwood extended the lead with his goal at 16:16 of the second.
The Nanooks cut the lead in half just 2:36 into the third, but they could not get any closer before Darien Craighead regained the two-goal advantage, 3-1, with his tally at 18:26.
Robbie Payne iced the game for the Wildcats with an empty-net goal with 18 seconds left in the contest.
