FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The visiting Seawolves jumped out to a 4-0 lead against Nanooks starter Anton Martinsson and then fended off their rival in the third period.

Austin Azurdia and Jarrett Brown each recorded a goal and assist during that four-goal spurt before UAF responded with a goal by Ryker Leer with 7:59 left in the second period to make it 4-1.

But Nicolas Erb-Ekholm scored his second goal of the night with a shorthanded tally four minutes later to make it 5-1 and give UAA a much-needed cushion after goals by Justin Woods and Ross Heidt late in the third period trimmed the Seawolves lead to 5-3.

Olivier Mantha finished with 35 saves in the win at the Carlson Center. The Nanooks need to garner at least a tie on Saturday to make the WCHA playoffs.
