The North Dakota Fighting Sioux rallied from a 3-2 second period deficit to edge No. 6 Boston University 5-4 Saturday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena. <\/p>\n

BU and North Dakota exchanged the game’s first four goals before the Terriers took a 3-2 lead midway through the middle frame. The Fighting Sioux then notched three straight goals to take a 5-3 advantage before BU scored with six seconds remaining in the game to account for the 5-4 final.<\/p>\n

In the first period, North Dakota grabbed a 2-1 advantage, outshooting the Terriers, 17-7. Margot Miller opened the scoring for the Fighting Sioux with a rebound goal at 3:49.<\/p>\n

The Terriers evened the game less than four minutes later with a tally from senior Jillian Kirchner, who collected the puck in the neutral zone, skated to the top of the left circle, and wristed a shot over the glove of North Dakota netminder Jorid Dagfinrud.<\/p>\n

After Stephanie Roy gave North Dakota a 2-1 advantage with 2:31 remaining in the first period, freshman Louise Warren knotted the game 2-2, at 7:32 of the middle frame. Warren collected the loose puck in the high slot, skated toward the bottom of the right circle and sent a backhand attempt low to the far side for the goal.<\/p>\n

The Terriers took their first lead of the game, 3-2, with Jenn Wakefield’s marker at 9:01. From the left corner, freshman Kaleigh Fratkin sent the puck toward the near post, where Wakefield poked the puck past the Dagfinrud.<\/p>\n

North Dakota answered with two goals in the second period to grab a 4-3 advantage. While on the power play, Jocelyne Lamoureux scored on a one-timer at 11:37 and, less than five minutes later, Monique Lamoureux-Kolls netted a shot from the right circle.<\/p>\n

In the final frame, Lamoureux-Kolls tallied her second marker of the game at 4:21 to give North Dakota a 5-3 lead. With six seconds remaining in the contest and with Fromkin pulled in favor of an extra attacker, freshman Marie-Philip Poulin scored for BU following a goalmouth scramble to account for the 5-4 final.<\/p>\n
